Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 23, AD Ports Group announced that Khalifa Port has been ranked 39th in the 2025 Lloyd’s List Top 100 Ports, marking a continued rise in global port rankings. The achievement reflects the port’s growing operational capacity, digital advancement, and role as a logistics hub in international trade.
Since first appearing on the Lloyd’s List ranking in 2019 at 95th position, Khalifa Port has steadily progressed due to expanded infrastructure, the integration of digital solutions, and diversified service offerings. The Lloyd’s List Top 100 Ports is regarded as a global benchmark that evaluates ports based on throughput and operational efficiency.
As of Q2 2025, Khalifa Port accounted for 9.6 million TEUs of AD Ports Group’s total container capacity of 11.8 million TEUs. In the first half of 2025, the Group’s container throughput rose 21 per cent year-on-year to 3.62 million TEUs, with 85 per cent handled at Khalifa Port. This strong performance reinforces the port’s central role within AD Ports Group’s operations.
Saif Al Mazrouei, Chief Executive Officer of the Ports Cluster at AD Ports Group, stated: “Khalifa Port’s steady climb in the Lloyd’s List Top 100 Ports ranking exemplifies our long-term vision and commitment to operational excellence. It stands as a testament to the dedication of our teams, the trust of our global partners, and the success of our integrated strategy to reinforce Khalifa Port’s position as a world-class hub for trade and logistics.”
Khalifa Port is also notable for being the only port in the Gulf region hosting terminals operated by three of the five largest global shipping lines—COSCO Shipping Ports (CSP), CMA CGM, and MSC. These partnerships have significantly strengthened the port’s capacity and its direct connections to key global markets, enabling greater flexibility and reliability in international shipping routes.
Functioning as a multimodal logistics hub, Khalifa Port integrates maritime, road, rail, and air links, offering seamless connectivity across the region. Its direct link to KEZAD Group, the UAE’s largest integrated industrial zone, creates a unified ecosystem that supports manufacturing, trade, and logistics services.
The port’s growth reflects broader national efforts to enhance Abu Dhabi’s role in global trade, promote economic diversification, and develop a sustainable logistics infrastructure. These initiatives are supported by continued investment and partnerships aimed at driving innovation in port operations.
In line with this strategy, AD Ports Group recently signed a strategic collaboration agreement with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to advance digital trade. The partnership aims to strengthen trade facilitation and innovation, contributing to global supply chain efficiency and sustainable economic development.
Khalifa Port’s rise in global rankings underscores its growing importance as a regional and international logistics hub, highlighting AD Ports Group’s commitment to operational excellence, digital transformation, and long-term growth in the maritime sector.
