Wedoany.com Report-Oct. 25, NIO announced on October 22 via its official Weibo account that it will deliver the 300,000th unit of its ES6 SUV in November, marking a major milestone for one of the company’s flagship models.

Originally launched in December 2018 and delivered to customers from June 2019, the ES6 has remained a cornerstone in NIO’s vehicle lineup. In 2023, the model underwent a comprehensive upgrade, transitioning to NIO’s advanced NT 2.0 platform. The revamped ES6 officially entered the market in May 2023, with prices starting from 338,000 yuan for a full purchase or 268,000 yuan under the company’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan.

The latest ES6 retains the clean and athletic styling of the previous generation while introducing several refined design elements. The front adopts a closed grille layout with split headlamps, and the lower beams feature a subtly revised shape. The SUV is also equipped with ADB adaptive multi-beam headlights that integrate data from LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, and cameras to provide precise and intelligent lighting control. A new high-visibility warning function enhances illumination and driving safety in challenging road conditions.

Inside, NIO has optimized the interior layout for comfort and usability. The steering wheel controls have been improved for better ergonomics, and the traditional gear selector has been replaced with a column-mounted shifter. This change frees up additional space under the center console, which now accommodates a wireless charging pad and dual cup holders. The cabin also introduces a new “Alpine Grey” interior color option, expanding personalization choices for customers.

Technologically, the new ES6 is powered by NIO’s AQUILA Super Sensing system, featuring the NX9031 chipset and 29 high-precision sensors — including a LiDAR unit, a 4D imaging radar, 12 ultrasonic radars, and 11 cameras. This system enables lane-level navigation assistance that can operate on almost all roads across China, representing a significant advancement toward full-scenario intelligent driving.

In terms of performance, all ES6 variants are equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering a combined output of 360 kW and 700 Nm of torque. The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 200 km/h. Customers can select between 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery packs, offering CLTC-rated ranges of 510 km and 650 km respectively.

Like other NIO models, the ES6 supports fast charging and the company’s signature battery swap service, which allows for quick energy replenishment. With these upgrades, NIO aims to enhance the user experience and strengthen its competitiveness in the premium electric SUV segment. The upcoming delivery of the 300,000th ES6 underscores the brand’s steady growth and its continued commitment to innovation and intelligent mobility.
