Wedoany.com Report-Nov. 30, India's National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), under the Ministry of Textiles, has established the Atal Centre of Textile Recycling and Sustainability at IIT Delhi's Panipat campus. The centre advances sustainable practices through two key programmes: the National Flag Recycling Initiative and the Aramid Fibre Recycling Programme.

A dedicated demonstration event organised by the Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) will take place in Panipat on 28 November 2025. The gathering will showcase technologies developed under NTTM, facilitate engagement between government and industry stakeholders, and underline the mission's contribution to innovation and circular economy integration in technical textiles.

The Aramid Fibre Recycling Programme has achieved significant progress in processing high-performance aramid waste, a material essential for defence, aerospace, and protective applications. Multiple technical textile manufacturers have already adopted the resulting technologies, confirming their commercial viability and the successful translation of research into practical, scalable solutions.

These initiatives strengthen India's technical textiles ecosystem by combining advanced R&D with industry adoption, supporting both environmental objectives and strategic material self-reliance.
