The GMK Center released a forecast report stating that Ukraine's steel production in 2026 may remain at around 7.2 million tons, similar to the expected output under the baseline scenario for 2025. The report, titled "GMK Center's Forecast for 2026: Steel," was published on its official website on December 23. The report also noted that the growth potential of Ukrainian steel enterprises is nearing its limit.
The report outlines three scenario forecasts. Under an optimistic scenario, the country's steel production could recover to 7.6 million tons. However, a pessimistic scenario predicts production could drop to between 6.3 million and 6.6 million tons, based on considerations of potential disruptions to maritime logistics and restrictions in the European market.
