Wedoany.com Report-Dec.25, BYD announced that its cumulative production of plug-in vehicles (often referred to as "new energy vehicles" in the Chinese market) reached 15 million units by December 2025. This milestone follows the company surpassing 10 million units in cumulative production (achieved in November 2024) by an interval of only about 13 months, demonstrating the company's continued rapid expansion in production scale.

The model that achieved this 15-million-unit production milestone is the Denza N8L, a six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV with a starting price of 299,800 yuan. BYD's total sales for the full year are expected to exceed 4 million units, similar to the level of the previous year.

BYD's first plug-in hybrid model went on sale in December 2008. The company achieved its goal of cumulative production of 1 million plug-in vehicles in May 2021, taking approximately 13 years from the first vehicle to the 1 millionth vehicle. The growth from 1 million to 15 million units took about 4 years.

Company information shows that BYD currently has over 900,000 employees worldwide, with more than 110,000 of them dedicated to research and development work.
