Tesla Launches Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive Starting at HK$205,000

The starting price is HK$205,000 in Hong Kong and MOP 252,000 in Macau. Positioned below the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, the new model features a single-motor rear-wheel drive setup with a WLTP range of 572 kilometers. On August 29, Tesla held a full-series Model 3 experience event in Hong Kong, where the new Rear-Wheel Drive variant was showcased alongside the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, Premium Long Range All-Wheel Drive, and Performance All-Wheel Drive.

The new Model 3 Rear-Wheel Drive accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds, with a top speed of 201 km/h, a curb weight of 1,772 kg, and dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,933 mm in width, and 1,440 mm in height. It has a ground clearance of 138 mm and a luggage capacity of 682 liters. The vehicle rides on 18-inch Prismata wheels and supports a maximum supercharging power of 175 kW. According to Tesla's stated testing methodology, it can add approximately 286 kilometers of range in 15 minutes.

In terms of features, the new variant comes with a black interior and fabric upholstery, featuring a 15.4-inch central touchscreen in the front. Compared to the Model 3 Premium variant, the new model removes the rear 8-inch touchscreen and reduces certain cabin and interior appointments; the Premium model is equipped with a 15.4-inch central touchscreen and an 8-inch rear touchscreen, along with ambient lighting and premium interior materials.

The Macau market currently offers four Model 3 variants simultaneously. The new Rear-Wheel Drive is priced at MOP 252,000, the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive at MOP 278,000, the Premium Long Range All-Wheel Drive at MOP 303,000, and the Performance All-Wheel Drive at MOP 365,000. The price difference between the new variant and the Premium Rear-Wheel Drive is MOP 26,000.

The new variant continues to come standard with basic Autopilot, and Enhanced Autopilot is available as an option in the Macau market. The vehicle's basic warranty covers 4 years or 80,000 kilometers, while the battery and drive unit warranty covers 8 years or 160,000 kilometers. The Macau official website currently lists an estimated delivery time of 1 to 3 months.
