CATL and Seres Sign Long-Term Strategic Cooperation Agreement

en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 10, China's CATL and Seres Group signed a long-term strategic cooperation agreement in Chongqing. The two parties will accelerate the Phase II construction of the "factory-in-factory" power battery facility within the Seres Super Factory. Phase II is planned to have an annual capacity of 10–12 GWh, and once completed, the combined annual capacity of Phase I and Phase II will exceed 20 GWh. The agreement also covers the construction of a supercharging service system for new energy vehicles and joint expansion into European, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian markets.

CATL adopts a "factory-in-factory" production model within the Seres Super Factory, directly installing power battery pack production facilities. In June 2025, two CTP 2.0 high-end battery pack production lines of Phase I at the base were officially put into operation, mainly supplying power battery systems to AITO brand new energy vehicles. This is also CATL's first production base put into operation in Chongqing.

This expansion continues the existing localized production arrangement. The two parties plan to accelerate Phase II capacity construction and continue to have CATL supply power batteries to all AITO vehicle models on a long-term basis. According to data disclosed by both parties, the AITO brand has delivered more than 1.2 million vehicles cumulatively since its founding, and all current models use CATL batteries.

The two parties will also cooperate on supercharging networks for new energy vehicles and battery services, involving vehicle energy replenishment facilities and a full-lifecycle battery service system. This agreement clarifies the direction of cooperation, but did not disclose the number of new supercharging stations, construction locations, or specific investment arrangements.

In terms of overseas business, the two parties plan to jointly expand into European, Middle Eastern, and Central Asian markets, with cooperation covering new energy vehicle products and related services.
