Wedoany.com Report-Jan.2, On December 28, Sudan Mining Company announced that Sudan's gold production reached 70 tons in 2025, marking a five-year high, with revenue exceeding 1 trillion Sudanese pounds (approximately 1 USD to 3400 Sudanese pounds).
Data from Sudan Mining Company shows that due to the impact of armed conflict, the country's gold production declined in 2023, but rebounded to 64 tons in 2024.
Gold exports are one of the main sources of foreign exchange earnings for Sudan. According to statistics from the Central Bank of Sudan, Sudan's gold export value reached $2.02 billion in 2022, accounting for 46.3% of total non-oil exports.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released a report in October this year, forecasting that Sudan's real GDP will grow by 3.2% in 2025.
