Wedoany.com Report-Dec.29, Australian property developer Goodman Group recently announced that it has entered into a cooperation agreement worth approximately 14 billion Australian dollars with the Canadian pension fund CPPIB. The two parties will jointly invest in the construction of data centers in Europe. The initial commitment for this joint venture is 3.9 billion Australian dollars.
According to the agreement, Goodman Group and CPPIB will each hold a 50% stake. They will first initiate data center construction projects in locations such as Frankfurt, Germany; Amsterdam, the Netherlands; and Paris, France. These projects are all contingent on obtaining relevant power connections, planning permissions, and site preparation, with the aim of achieving rapid delivery. Construction is planned to commence before June 30, 2026.
Goodman Group is a large-scale property development company in Australia and has been continuously expanding its data center and artificial intelligence infrastructure businesses in recent years. As of September this year, its data center projects under construction accounted for a significant proportion of the total value of the group's projects under construction. Information on the company's website shows that it currently possesses a certain scale of data center capacity in 13 cities worldwide.
