Wedoany.com Report-Dec.31, On December 30, Unit 1 of the Datang Jinhua Natural Gas Power Generation Project successfully passed its 168-hour trial operation and officially commenced power generation.
The project is located in Wucheng District, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. It is one of the first batch of 9H-class gas turbine projects in Zhejiang Province and the first such project for China Datang Corporation Ltd. It is also a key energy construction project under Zhejiang Province's "14th Five-Year Plan" and "Thousand Projects, Trillion Investment" initiative. Each unit has a capacity of 748 megawatts, with a total installed capacity of 1,496 megawatts.
The project aligns with Jinhua City's industrial transformation and upgrading initiative, known as "replacing old growth drivers with new ones." It utilizes the vacated site of a relocated chemical enterprise in the Linqian Industrial Zone of Wucheng District to construct the gas-fired power plant. This promotes a shift in production methods towards "green and intelligent" practices, deeply implementing Zhejiang Province's vision for a new energy system characterized by "clean, low-carbon, safe, reliable, and highly efficient energy conservation."
This project is the first large-scale gas turbine project in China to apply the "one-click sequential control" technology, enabling intelligent remote operation for switching 6kV switchgear on and off. To date, the project has applied for over 20 invention patents and utility model patents, and has participated in drafting group standards.
Once both units are operational, the annual power generation is expected to be approximately 3 billion kilowatt-hours, sufficient to meet the electricity needs of 3.8 million residents for one year. It is estimated to save 320,000 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.22 million tons annually. The project will provide stable and clean power support for Zhejiang Province, playing a significant role in serving Zhejiang's high-quality development and the construction of a demonstration zone for common prosperity.
