Wedoany.com Report-Jan.3, The Swedish mining company Grangex recently announced that it has reached a new agreement with the British mining giant Anglo American to support the restart plan for the Sydvaranger mine. The company's established strategy is to resume operations at the mine and produce approximately 3.5 million tons per year of direct reduction ultra-high-grade magnetite concentrate, with the previously announced target of commencing operations by the end of 2026 remaining unchanged.

The company and Anglo American have agreed on the following framework, which will take effect upon the final investment decision and completion of project financing: (1) Anglo American will fully terminate the existing $37 million royalty, with no repayment of principal and no payment of any future royalties; (2) Following the royalty termination, Anglo American will purchase all direct reduction ultra-high-grade magnetite concentrate produced by the Sydvaranger mine over its entire mine life; (3) The offtake price will be determined based on a market price-related formula agreed upon by the company and Anglo American.
