Wedoany.com News — Recently, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy stated that during a meeting held on January 23, Kazakhstan and the United States reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in the energy sector and conducted in-depth discussions on the direction of strategic cooperation.

The meeting was attended by Sanzhar Zharkeshov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, and representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Embassy in Kazakhstan, David Wilbor and Gordon Tate. The Kazakh side emphasized the critical role of major oil and gas projects in national economic development and energy security. Both sides explored possibilities for deepening cooperation in the coal industry and coal chemical sector, including the introduction of modern processing technologies and the improvement of production efficiency and environmental standards. The meeting also affirmed the important role of the Kazakhstan-U.S. Strategic Energy Dialogue (SED) as a core bilateral mechanism in promoting expert collaboration, experience sharing, and policy coordination. Both sides confirmed they will continue to strengthen cooperation and promote Kazakhstan's active participation in international energy platforms such as CERAWeek.
