Wedoany.com Report on Jan 31st, On January 29, 2026, the Dajing West 220kV Photovoltaic Collection Station project of China Energy Construction Group was successfully connected to the grid on its first attempt. After six months of overcoming difficulties and challenges, the project successfully completed the major milestone task of grid connection, making a significant contribution to the energy and infrastructure construction in China's border regions.

The Dajing West 220kV Photovoltaic Collection Station project is located in Qitai County, Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang, approximately 50km north of Qitai County. The project involves the construction of a new 220kV photovoltaic collection station with a planned capacity of 3x240MVA. It includes the construction of 3 new 220kV main transformer incoming line intervals, 2 bus PT intervals, 1 220kV outgoing line interval, and 1 bus coupler interval. In the current phase, a total of 31 circuits of 35kV collection lines are connected to the 35kV side of the 220kV photovoltaic collection station. Among these, 24 circuits originate from the photovoltaic area of this project, 1 circuit from the energy storage system of this project, and 6 circuits from the Huadian 150MW photovoltaic project. Additionally, a new supporting 25MW/100MWh energy storage power station is constructed and located west of the SPIC Haoyue 220kV Photovoltaic Power Station.

Since the project's commencement, the project team has faced numerous challenges, including an exceptionally tight schedule, severe sandstorms, extreme temperatures (both high and low), limited construction space, and difficult equipment transportation. Under such arduous conditions, all staff members of the project department rose to the challenge, fully embodying the management culture of "sincere cooperation, meticulous management, lean production, and quality dedication." They scientifically coordinated the entire process control of civil construction, equipment installation, and commissioning tests. The project team implemented lean management and shift work systems, consistently staying on the front lines, racing against time, and coordinating effectively to ensure the timely input and efficient utilization of various resources, firmly securing every critical milestone. All construction personnel executed each process with rigorous attention to detail and tackled every challenge with a determined spirit. Ultimately, while ensuring "zero accidents" in safety and quality, they vigorously advanced the project's progress, laying a solid foundation for its final success.

The construction of this project has contributed to the high-quality development of Qitai County's power system, enhanced the level of renewable energy consumption and the proportion of non-fossil energy consumption in Qitai County. It has also made a certain contribution to achieving the goals of "carbon neutrality and carbon peak" as soon as possible and building a new power system primarily based on new energy sources.

The project promotes the economic development and industrial transformation and upgrading of Qitai County, fostering new economic growth points. By increasing the supply of clean and renewable electricity, it directly reduces the consumption of non-renewable energy resources such as fossil fuels in the region and decreases greenhouse gas emissions, thereby achieving a win-win situation for social, economic, and ecological benefits.
