Nordex Group Secures 508 MW Wind Power Order in Canada, Debuts N175/6.X Turbine

Wedoany.com Report on Feb 2nd, the Nordex Group secured a total of 508 MW in wind turbine supply and installation orders in Canada, involving a total of 73 units. The orders include the N163 model and the N175/6.X turbine, making its debut in the Canadian market. All contracts come with long-term service agreements.

These turbines, specifically designed for cold climates, will be equipped with advanced rotor blade anti-icing systems and are scheduled for delivery between 2027 and 2028. This technology aims to enhance operational stability in harsh winter environments and reduce downtime caused by icing.

Manav Sharma, CEO of Nordex Group North America, stated: "We are deeply honored by our customers' continued trust. These orders strengthen our footprint in the Canadian market. The proven anti-icing technology is key to the success of projects in cold regions. With the N175 model joining our product portfolio, we will help our customers maximize annual energy production and optimize the levelized cost of energy." The specific customers and wind farm names have not been disclosed.

The Nordex Group has cumulatively installed approximately 57 GW of wind power capacity across more than 40 markets globally, with consolidated sales reaching €7.3 billion in 2024. The company employs over 10,400 people and operates production facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, the United States, and Mexico. It primarily offers onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ class to meet the needs of areas with space constraints and limited grid capacity.
