Wedoany.com Report on Feb 5th, Amazon MGM Studios' AI studio, established last summer, is developing AI tools specifically for television and film production, aiming to optimize the production process. This includes enhancing character consistency across shots and assisting in pre- and post-production. According to Reuters, these tools have completed internal testing and will launch a closed beta program in March, inviting industry partners to participate in trials.

Amazon plans to announce preliminary test results by May. When asked for details by TechCrunch, the company declined to comment further. The AI studio is collaborating with several renowned producers, such as Robert Stromberg of "Maleficent," Kunal Nayyar of "The Big Bang Theory," and former Pixar animator Colin Brady, to explore the best applications for the tools. The project also relies on Amazon Web Services and plans to collaborate with multiple large language model providers.
Albert Cheng, overseeing the AI studio initiative, stated: "The goal is to support creative teams, not replace them." He emphasized that the tools are designed to increase efficiency, reduce costs, protect intellectual property, and prevent AI-generated content from being absorbed by other models. For example, Amazon's series "The House of David" Season 2 utilized 350 AI-generated shots.
However, the widespread application of AI in Hollywood has sparked industry debate, with many expressing concerns about its impact on employment, creativity, and the future of filmmaking. As more companies experiment with AI tools, related controversies continue to intensify. Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos revealed that their series "The Eternals" used generative AI to create building collapse scenes.
In recent years, Amazon has viewed AI advancements as a factor in business adjustments. The company laid off approximately 16,000 employees in January, following a reduction of 14,000 positions last October.
