Wedoany.com Report on Feb 5th, Nidec Aerospace, a subsidiary of Nidec, recently announced the opening of a new office in Atlanta, Georgia, to accelerate the research, development, and application of sustainable aviation electric propulsion units.

The establishment of the Atlanta hub aims to enhance Nidec Aerospace's comprehensive capabilities, assisting customers through the entire process from conceptual design to certification services. By integrating engineering, project management, and customer collaboration, the company is committed to shortening development cycles, optimizing system integration, and improving project reliability in the rapidly evolving aerospace sector.

Atlanta was chosen as the new base primarily due to its superior global transportation network, abundant aerospace and engineering talent resources, and geographic proximity to several renowned research universities. The region's increasingly robust aerospace industry ecosystem facilitates closer collaboration between Nidec Aerospace and its customers, suppliers, and industry partners, promoting the implementation of long-term innovation plans.

Vincent Braley, CEO of Nidec Aerospace, stated: "Establishing operations in Atlanta aligns with the trend of electric propulsion projects moving towards practical application, where geographical location plays a crucial role. This initiative will help us work more efficiently, achieve system integration earlier, and provide stable, reliable, certification-compliant propulsion solutions, assisting various projects in transitioning smoothly from the prototype phase to actual operation."

St. Louis, Missouri, will continue to serve as a key operational center for Nidec Aerospace, retaining its existing technical expertise and infrastructure. With the Atlanta base now operational, enhanced collaboration between the two locations will further strengthen teamwork and support the company's long-term development strategy.

This business expansion further solidifies Nidec's position as a long-term partner for aircraft developers, equipment manufacturers, and operators, with performance, operational reliability, and time-to-market efficiency being key considerations in the pursuit of sustainable aviation.

Nidec Aerospace was established in October 2023 as a strategic joint venture between Nidec Motor Corporation and Embraer, combining electric motor technology with aerospace expertise. The company currently focuses on developing high-performance, high-safety electric propulsion units for various aerospace applications, with products ranging from electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, electric short take-off and landing (eSTOL) aircraft, electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft, to various unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms.
