Recently, the boiler ignition for Unit 7 in the fourth-phase expansion project of China Coal Ezhou Power Plant was successfully achieved on the first attempt, providing a solid foundation for the subsequent complete unit start-up and the 168-hour trial operation. This progress marks a critical milestone for the fourth-phase expansion project of China Coal Ezhou Power Plant, which will strongly support the stable operation of the Hubei power grid.Image of the project site or related equipment

The project is located in the Gedian Economic Development Zone, Ezhou City, Hubei Province. It plans to construct two million-kilowatt ultra-supercritical secondary reheat coal-fired power generating units, equipped with simultaneous flue gas desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal facilities to ensure zero wastewater discharge from the entire plant. The boiler for Unit 7 adopts an ultra-supercritical parameter and variable-pressure operation once-through design, is installed with an SCR flue gas denitrification system, and utilizes a plasma ignition system, reflecting its high efficiency and environmentally friendly technical characteristics.

Upon completion, the fourth-phase expansion project of China Coal Ezhou Power Plant is expected to generate an annual electricity output of 9.21 billion kilowatt-hours. It will significantly improve the power supply structure of the Hubei power grid, promote complementary operation of hydro and thermal power, enhance system regulation capability, and effectively alleviate peak shaving pressure on the grid. This project holds positive significance for regional energy security and sustainable development.
