China's Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway is a major artery connecting Chongqing Municipality and Kunming City in Yunnan Province. With a total length of approximately 700 kilometers and a design speed of 350 km/h, the line starts from Chongqing West Station, passes through Sichuan Province and Guizhou Province, and finally connects to Kunming South Station. As a vital component of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor within China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, construction crews along the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway have fully resumed work after the Spring Festival, launching a final push towards the ultimate goal of the entire line's completion and opening.

Baxianying Grand Bridge: Full-Scale Human-Machine Collaboration

At the construction site of the Baxianying Grand Bridge, one of the key control projects in the Yunnan-Guizhou section of the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, a busy scene unfolds. Workers from China Railway No. 2 Engineering Group Co., Ltd. are intensely engaged in the construction of the high-speed railway's ballastless track. The ballastless track is the core foundation ensuring the smooth and safe operation of high-speed trains at 350 km/h, requiring extremely high construction precision.

On-site, various processes such as steel bar binding, formwork installation and alignment, and concrete pouring are closely linked and proceed in an orderly manner. The workers are focused and meticulous, ensuring each track slab meets the highest quality standards. Currently, within just this divisional management section, over 500 construction personnel and more than 60 sets of large-scale machinery and equipment are deployed daily for synchronized construction, racing against time to advance the subgrade and track laying work.

Zhaotong East Station: Outline Takes Shape with Clear Goals

Simultaneously, the construction of Zhaotong East Station is also proceeding at full speed. The massive steel structure truss for the station building's roof was successfully hoisted into place as a whole before the Spring Festival, resembling a pair of steel wings ready to unfold, clearly outlining the grand form of this future urban gateway. Since the post-holiday work resumption, all personnel and management teams for the subsequent steel structure installation, welding, and other supporting station building works have been fully mobilized.

The project party organized comprehensive safety inspections and pre-job training for personnel at the start of the work resumption to ensure construction safety. Fan Jiayan, Deputy Project Manager of the Zhaotong Station construction project for the Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway, stated, "We achieved full work resumption on the tenth day of the first lunar month. We are now operating at full capacity, fully committed to ensuring the construction schedule, and steadily progressing towards the nodal goals of completing the station building's steel structure by the end of March and basically finishing the station building construction by the end of June."

The Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway line traverses complex geological conditions with an extremely high bridge-tunnel ratio, presenting significant construction challenges. Upon its completion and opening, the railway travel time between Chongqing and Kunming will be drastically reduced from the current several hours, forming a rapid passenger transport corridor traversing the southwestern region.
