The Spanish Confederation of Goods Transport Employers (CETM) announced this week its formal integration into the Spanish Confederation of Small and Medium Enterprises (Cepyme). This move aims to strengthen institutional dialogue and safeguard the interests of the road freight transport sector, predominantly composed of SMEs and self-employed professionals. CETM stated that joining Cepyme is a strategic step for the confederation, aligning with its long-term commitment and contributing to greater coordination in key areas.

CETM pointed out: "Being part of Cepyme will allow CETM to join forces with the entire Spanish business community, actively participate in the main social and economic dialogue forums, and contribute to building an environment more conducive to the growth, competitiveness, and sustainability of SMEs." The confederation emphasized that joining Cepyme will help promote coordination on key issues such as taxation, labor regulations, digitalization, energy transition, and access to financing, areas that are crucial for the sector's present and future development.

CETM highly commended Cepyme's work in representing SME interests, including its representative role within public administration bodies and the social dialogue framework, as well as its initiatives to boost the competitiveness and resilience of Spain's productive structure. In the context of strengthened cooperation, Cepyme's President, Ángela de Miguel, will participate in the upcoming CETM Congress to be held in Gijón, Spain, from May 20 to 22, delivering a speech titled 'The Pulse of Spanish SMEs: Challenges and Opportunities for Growth'. The speech will explore the main challenges faced by SMEs in the current economic environment and the opportunities for growth and transformation opening up for the business community.
