en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 7, the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway launched a 20-day autumn centralized maintenance program. During the centralized maintenance period, trains across the entire line will be suspended for 3 hours daily from 9:00 to 12:00 to carry out concentrated inspection, repair, and renewal of rails, sleepers, ballast beds, power supply catenary, and signal equipment, while coal freight train transport is organized in parallel.

This round of construction includes tasks such as replacing rails in continuous sections, replacing sleepers in continuous sections, and ballast cleaning by large track maintenance machinery, with a total of 157 construction teams and nearly 16,000 workers deployed. Specialties including track, power supply, and signals will carry out operations simultaneously within the daily centralized suspension window to complete the inspection and repair of heavy-haul railway infrastructure and equipment.

During the centralized maintenance period, China Railway Taiyuan Group will adjust the organization of freight train operations, maintaining coal transport on the Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway by optimizing daily shift plans, strengthening loading and unloading connections, and accelerating the turnover of locomotives and rolling stock. According to the current transport arrangement, the planned daily transport volume on the line during the centralized maintenance period will remain at 1 million tons.

The Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway is China's main heavy-haul coal transport corridor, undertaking the task of transporting coal outbound from Shanxi, Shaanxi, and western Inner Mongolia, with an annual coal transport volume of approximately 400 million tons. Its transport services cover 26 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country, including more than 300 major power plants and more than 6,000 enterprises.
