Wedoany.com Report on Mar 7th, The flexible packaging industry continues to focus on sustainability, with Cheer Pack North America dedicated to enhancing the environmental performance of spouted pouches to meet increasingly stringent regulatory requirements. The company, located in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is an integrated manufacturer providing packaging solutions made in the USA.

Al Madonna, Vice President of Marketing, stated, "As Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs expand in states like Oregon and Colorado, and California's SB-54 bill drives packaging reform, brands are facing stricter material scrutiny." In response to this trend, Cheer Pack North America has developed innovative spouted pouches that support EPR compliance and reduce plastic usage.
The company, in collaboration with Amcor, launched the first fully commercialized recyclable polyethylene spouted pouch in the North American market, named CheerCircle. This recyclable spouted pouch uses a single-material polyethylene laminate, overcoming challenges in pouch manufacturing. As of December 2025, the company has produced over 10 billion spouted pouch and cap sets.
Collaboration with the brand Once Upon a Farm has driven growth, as the brand fully adopted the CheerCircle recyclable spouted pouch in 2025, paired with lightweight Vizi caps. The new structure uses 30% less plastic compared to the previous version, reducing waste by approximately 19 tons per 10 million sets. Although it's difficult to directly communicate environmental information on the packaging, the brand explains the transition through its website and recycling programs.
According to Madonna, since its launch in early 2025, sales of the recyclable spouted pouch have achieved double-digit growth. Cheer Pack North America plans to further advance sustainability by increasing PCR content and developing tethered caps. As EPR expands, single-material structures and higher recycled content are becoming the forefront of packaging innovation, aiding the development of a circular economy.
