In terms of sustainability, the LEGO Group has set science-based targets, aiming to reduce total greenhouse gas emissions by 37% compared to 2019 by 2032, as part of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. In 2025, 9% of the company's total energy consumption came from natural gas, primarily used for heating factories, with plans to completely phase out natural gas use in the coming years. Additionally, due to a vehicle policy introduced in 2024, nearly 50% of the company's fleet has been converted to electric vehicles. However, strong sales led to a 12% increase in Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services compared to 2024.

LEGO Group CEO Niels B. Christiansen said, "We are very pleased with the record performance in 2025, which builds on last year's success. Our innovative and broad product portfolio, combined with the strength of the LEGO brand and an effective operating model, has driven high demand. We achieved these results through creativity in product innovation and efficiency in operations, bringing the LEGO play experience to more children than ever before. As we continue to invest in future growth, we have initiated multi-year strategic investments and achieved over half of the materials purchased for making LEGO bricks being renewable and recycled."

In 2025, the LEGO Group assessed climate change risks to its global supply chain, finding that its factories face a high risk of disruption due to high temperatures, drought, and water scarcity due to their geographic locations. Regarding sustainable materials, the company focuses on the circularity of products and packaging, aiming to use renewable, recyclable packaging to reduce single-use plastics. Currently, the company has introduced paper bags made from at least 95% paper, verified as technically recyclable in the EU, US, and Canadian markets. By weight, over 95% of sales packaging is made from paper-based materials.

Christiansen added, "We are firmly committed to making a positive impact on the world and communities we are part of. We achieve this by working to reduce our environmental footprint and improving play opportunities for children who need it most. We will continue to invest significantly to realize this ambition." Beyond environmental stewardship, the LEGO Group also impacts children's lives globally through social responsibility projects, such as creating LEGO MRI scanners to help hospitals explain medical procedures. Since the project's launch, over 1 million children worldwide have benefited. Through global initiatives, the company has impacted 11.7 million children in 27 countries, exceeding its target of 10.2 million.
