Wedoany.com Report on Mar 19th, Amazon is expanding its rapid delivery service in the United States, introducing new 1-hour and 3-hour delivery options covering over 90,000 items. This initiative aims to help customers get daily essentials faster, including groceries, cleaning supplies, electronics, and clothing. The company has also added filtering features and dedicated pages to showcase products eligible for fast delivery.
The 1-hour delivery service is now available in hundreds of cities and towns, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, and Washington D.C., as well as smaller cities like Des Moines and Boise. The 3-hour delivery service covers an even wider area, spanning over 2,000 locations nationwide, providing convenience to more customers.
Amazon stated that these services are designed to help customers save time and meet daily needs without requiring advance planning. Udit Madan, Amazon's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations, said: "Our customers are busier than ever and are looking for new ways to save time and keep their households running. We are leveraging our operational expertise and delivery network to make life easier while adding value for Prime members. Twenty years after the launch of Prime, we continue to innovate by speeding up deliveries while maintaining everyday low prices and a wide selection."
The rapid delivery service is based on Amazon's existing same-day delivery network, which has expanded to over 9,000 U.S. cities and towns over the past decade. The stations handle the entire process of picking, packing, and delivering, using AI-driven inventory placement to position products closer to customers and accelerate the movement of frequently purchased items.
The company is also testing faster options, including services that deliver certain items in approximately 30 minutes in select markets. For Prime members, the 1-hour delivery fee is $9.99, and the 3-hour fee is $4.99, with higher fees for non-members; standard same-day delivery remains free for eligible orders.
