Perplexity AI Launches Health AI Service "Perplexity Health" in the US

This health AI service aims to answer users' health-related questions based on this data, such as analyzing heart rate trends or providing training plans. Currently, Perplexity Health is initially available to subscribers in the United States.

Perplexity Health supports direct connections to services like Apple Health, Fitbit, and Withings to retrieve user data. Additionally, data sources include electronic health records from over 1.7 million healthcare providers. Through a personalized dashboard, users can visually track their health progress and trends.

Combined with the AI agent platform "Perplexity Computer" launched by Perplexity AI at the end of February, this health AI service can create customized plans, such as marathon training or nutrition advice, based on fitness data and lab values, among other factors. Pro and Max subscribers in the US will have priority access, with other regions and user groups gradually gaining access in the future. Perplexity AI explicitly states that the service is "not intended for the diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of disease or other conditions, nor is it a substitute for professional medical advice." Recently, Microsoft and OpenAI have also launched similar services, but according to one study, OpenAI's ChatGPT Health service currently performs poorly and has even provided dangerous advice.
