en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 25th, The Hull City Council in the UK has recently launched its annual slurry seal program, deploying road repair works across the city. The project commenced on March 23 and is expected to be completed by April 22, covering 18 streets and a priority area park, with a total area of approximately 19,000 square meters. The project employs slurry seal technology, which involves applying a thin protective layer over existing pavement surfaces to address early wear issues, including minor cracks and potholes, while preventing water damage and extending the lifespan of the walkways.

Mark Ieronimo, Head of Transport and Infrastructure at Hull City Council, stated, "This program will help improve the condition and safety of pavements in Hull, providing convenience for residents, commuters, and visitors, and encouraging active travel choices. By investing in simple yet effective treatments like slurry sealing, we can extend the life of our streets and reduce the need for more disruptive repairs in the future." The road repair project covers areas throughout the city, including routes near Pickering Park and key residential streets such as Anlaby Road, Inglemire Lane, and Wymersley Road, progressing on a rolling four-week schedule.

Residents in affected areas will receive notification letters two weeks before work begins on their street, and contractors will provide additional information through leaflet distribution. The program is jointly funded by the Highway Capital Program and the "Love Your Community" project. Upon completion of the road repair works, the local pedestrian experience will be enhanced, providing safer conditions for walking. Hull City Council stated that it will continue to optimize the condition of urban infrastructure through such preventive maintenance measures and advance subsequent road repair efforts.
