en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 25th, The Bromley Council in London, UK, has recently approved plans to build over 200 affordable homes near Crystal Palace Park, laying the groundwork for the development project to proceed. Clarion Housing Group will deliver 202 affordable homes across two sites, Rockhills and Sydenham Villas, including 148 social rented homes and 54 shared ownership properties. This initiative aims to address local housing needs and introduce new community facilities.

As part of the development, a new community centre will be constructed to provide shared space for residents near the park and local groups. These homes form part of a broader vision for the revival of Crystal Palace Park. The initial land sale has released over £21 million in funding, dedicated to improving the historic green space and delivering affordable housing. The development project is designed to integrate with the surrounding community and parkland while expanding opportunities for local residents to continue living in the area.
Richard Cook, Chief Development Officer at Clarion Housing Group, stated: "We welcome the approval of the new affordable homes scheme at Crystal Palace Park. This scheme will provide much-needed housing for local residents while creating a new community centre to serve both new and existing residents. It is also part of the wider vision for the park, helping to support investment in its ongoing revival."
"We have worked closely with the London Borough of Bromley and the Crystal Palace Park Trust to propose a thoughtful design for the site, and we look forward to continuing this partnership as the development moves towards delivery." The Crystal Palace Park affordable homes project is expected to alleviate regional housing pressure and foster community development.
