en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 26th, Innatera, a leader in ultra-low-power edge AI, and Joya Design, a National Industrial Design Center, recently jointly announced that Joya Design has successfully developed its first Pulsar-based AI module, Joya EdgeCore®. This marks a key advancement in the real-world application of neuromorphic technology. The module is scheduled to make its debut at the 2026 Shanghai AWE (Appliance & Electronics World Expo), showcasing the practical results of neuromorphic processing transitioning from concept evaluation to product design. It is specifically designed for portable smart products, such as baby cribs and strollers, introducing device-side audio intelligence based on Innatera's brain-inspired architecture, aiming to enhance responsiveness, privacy, and energy efficiency.
"With Innatera's Pulsar chip and development ecosystem, our team smoothly transitioned from concept to product," said Liao Ke, founder of Joya Design. "The new module simplifies the OEM integration process, helping to add always-on intelligence without redesigning the system architecture. We are optimistic about its potential in areas such as baby monitoring, smart home accessories, and next-generation portable devices." The Joya EdgeCore® module translates neuromorphic innovation into a plug-and-play platform powered by the Pulsar microcontroller, supporting device-side contextual audio intelligence, such as baby cry classification applications, demonstrating nuanced perception capabilities in battery-powered products. By combining Joya's productization expertise with Innatera's event-driven architecture, it provides OEMs with a simplified path to integrate intelligent sensing into consumer devices.
"Our goal in launching Pulsar is to enable a smarter, safer world through ambient intelligence. Joya Design's innovative device makes this vision a reality, positively impacting daily life," said Sumeet Kumar, CEO of Innatera. "This module demonstrates how brain-inspired architecture can quickly transition from silicon innovation to a deliverable platform. Collaborating with Joya Design has accelerated the process of integrating neuromorphic AI into tangible products, fulfilling the promise of a better future." Joya Design's Pulsar-based module reflects a shift towards integrated AI building blocks, helping OEMs accelerate development while adding advanced device-side intelligence without increasing complexity.
