en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 30th, Snom has launched the M253 and M256 single-cell DECT systems in Berlin, Germany, aiming to expand its DECT product portfolio for small business sites. These systems are built around the M250 communication base station and are suitable for environments such as small and medium-sized enterprises, medical institutions, restaurants, retail stores, warehousing, workshops, and outdoor locations, meeting the needs of employees to stay connected while on the move.
The M250 communication base station provides indoor coverage of up to 50 meters and outdoor coverage of up to 300 meters, supporting a maximum of 10 Snom M5x series handsets and 8 simultaneous calls. Both kits use the same base station but are paired with different handsets: the M253 combines with the M53 handset, suitable for office and service environments; the M256 combines with the M56 handset, which has an IP67 protection rating, making it suitable for harsh conditions.
The M53 handset features a color display, ergonomic keyboard, and HD audio, with up to 12 hours of talk time and up to 120 hours of standby time, and uses standard AAA batteries to simplify maintenance. The M56 handset is designed to be dustproof and waterproof, suitable for workshops, warehouses, and outdoor areas.
The M250 communication base station can also work with other devices in the Snom DECT IP 5x series, such as the M55, M56 handsets, and the M58 desk phone, supporting both mobile employees and fixed-location staff, making it suitable for small branches and single-site operations.
These systems support Power over Ethernet, use TLS and SRTP to secure VoIP, and feature remote configuration, over-the-air updates, LDAP phonebook, centralized management, and auto-provisioning to reduce the administrative workload for IT teams and integrate into existing infrastructure.
Oliver Wittig, Senior Product Manager at Snom, said: "With the M253 and M256 solutions, we offer businesses DECT systems that combine professional features with maximum user-friendliness. The combination of the M250 base station with different handsets—from the comfortable M53 to the particularly rugged M56—makes this system a versatile and cost-effective platform suitable for a wide range of working environments."
