en.Wedoany.com Reported - US semiconductor startup Cerebras announced on Thursday that it will invest billions of euros in Europe to enhance the computing power of its AI data centers.

Company CEO Andrew Feldman told AFP in an interview during the Raise Summit, a major AI event in Paris, that this is a large-scale expansion aimed at meeting the rapidly growing demand from European customers. The California-based company currently operates three data centers equipped with its own chips in France, Finland, and Norway. These facilities will be expanded, with a target of reaching 200 megawatts of computing power by 2027.

Feldman noted that with these data centers, the company can meet Europe's requirements for security and data protection. Demand for generative AI in Europe is growing so fast that it is difficult to keep up. He estimated the investment at "billions of dollars," though the specific amount has not been disclosed.

Founded in 2015, Cerebras focuses on chips used in the content generation phase of AI models, rather than the development phase. With the rise of AI agents—a new generation of interfaces that can autonomously perform tasks in addition to responding to users—demand for such chips has surged. These AI agents are exponentially driving up the need for computing power, which chips from Cerebras or industry leader Nvidia are well-positioned to meet.
