en.Wedoany.com Reported - Recently, CISDI's first self-developed pneumatic conveying technology and equipment for hot Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) from China-made hydrogen-based shaft furnaces was successfully put into operation at Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron & Steel's near-zero carbon production line. This achievement marks the full integration of the hydrogen-based shaft furnace, hot DRI conveying and charging, and the steelmaking electric furnace. 
This move signifies that China has successfully broken the foreign technological monopoly, laying a solid technical foundation for the full localization of the hydrogen metallurgy short-process and promoting the green transformation of traditional industries.
The pneumatic conveying equipment for hot DRI is known as the "critical throat" of the near-zero carbon production line, playing a key role in the coordinated operation of the hydrogen-based shaft furnace and the zero-carbon electric furnace.
Jointly developed by CISDI and Zhanjiang Iron & Steel, the project innovatively adopted a fully enclosed conveying technology using inert gas. It integrates the shaft furnace hot discharge system with the pneumatic conveying facility, enabling continuous discharge of the hot product from the shaft furnace and its direct delivery to the electric furnace for use. This significantly improves transportation safety and hot charging efficiency while effectively reducing electric furnace power consumption and enhancing operational economy.
CISDI provided the process package and complete set of equipment for the pneumatic conveying of hot DRI from the shaft furnace for this project. It successfully conveys the high-temperature, high-pressure, and highly reactive hot DRI particles discharged from the shaft furnace to the electric arc furnace's hot charge hopper.
