en.Wedoany.com Reported - On May 1, Unit 1 of the Sichuan Energy Investment Bazhong (Tongjiang) Gas-fired Power Project, led by Southwest Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (SWEPDI) of China Energy Engineering under an EPC contract, passed the 168-hour trial run and was officially put into operation. Located in the Jintang Industrial Park in Tongjiang County, Bazhong City, Sichuan Province, the project involves the construction of two 400 MW-class gas-steam combined cycle units. With an annual power generation capacity of 2.371 billion kWh, it can meet the annual electricity demand of urban and rural residents in Bazhong City.
Constructed by the project team of SWEPDI of China Energy Engineering, this gas-fired power project faced challenges posed by mountainous terrain, resulting in a 45-meter-high fill slope on the southern side of the plant area. The construction team adopted a combination of geogrid reinforcement and retaining wall technology, optimizing the slope ratio to 1:1.5 and saving 9,800 square meters of land. Meanwhile, through energy-saving technologies such as waste heat cascade utilization and flue gas fuel preheating, the exhaust gas temperature was reduced to below 80 degrees Celsius, achieving efficient and clean energy utilization.
Unit 1 of this gas-fired power project was EPC-contracted by SWEPDI of China Energy Engineering. Its commissioning has enhanced the stability of the Northeast Sichuan power grid, promoted the local conversion of Tongjiang's natural gas resources, driven local employment and industrial development, and provided green momentum for the revitalization of the old revolutionary base area.
