en.Wedoany.com Reported - Scottish rental company Stoddart Crane Hire has taken delivery of the UK's first 55-tonne Liebherr LTM 1055-3.3 all-terrain crane. The crane, which made its debut at Bauma 2022, features a 40-metre main boom and an 8.6 to 15-metre bi-fold swing-away jib, offering a maximum tip height of over 58 metres and an offset angle of up to 40 degrees. Its features include the Liccon3 control system, VarioBase variable outrigger setup, remote control system, as well as Ecodrive and Ecomode systems.

Stoddart Director Kerri MacDonald said: "We are extremely proud to receive the UK's first LTM 1055-3.3. With its ability to reduce axle loads to 9 tonnes, this crane has quickly become a vital addition to our fleet, enabling us to serve customers further afield in the Scottish Highlands and Islands. It was particularly exciting to send it out on its first job, travelling by ferry to the island of Unst in Shetland." The all-terrain crane was handed over at the ScotPlant exhibition, delivered by Liebherr representative Lyle Sibbald.
Stoddart was founded by David Stoddart in 2004, initially operating a single 70-tonne Grove TM870 truck crane. The company remains family-owned, with its headquarters in Muir of Ord, west of Inverness. The business has grown steadily over 20 years, with the second generation, Ewan and Kerri, joining the management. Serving the Highlands, Islands and beyond, the fleet ranges from 5-tonne mini crawler cranes to large lorry loaders, as well as a range of all-terrain cranes with a maximum capacity of 250 tonnes.
