en.Wedoany.com Reported - Power Minerals (ASX:PNN) will commence its maiden drilling campaign later this month at the Morro do Ferro (MDF) rare earth project in southern Minas Gerais, Brazil, having completed the acquisition of the project.

The drilling will comprise approximately 3,800 metres of diamond drilling, of which 3,000 metres is designed to target the depth and extension of Magnetic Rare Earth Oxide (MREO) and Total Rare Earth Oxide (TREO) mineralisation, with a further 800 metres to obtain material for comprehensive metallurgical test work. Drilling is expected to be completed within three months, with initial results anticipated from June 2026.

Power Minerals completed the acquisition of the MDF project following comprehensive due diligence, which verified the project's potential to host a substantial MREO resource. The company completed due diligence covering corporate, financial, and technical activities last month.

Chief Executive Officer Alistair Stephens said the company is "very pleased" to commence drilling at the MDF project. Stephens said: "The drilling program is scheduled to begin this month and will include approximately 3,800 metres of diamond drilling, designed to expand the current mineralisation along strike and down dip, and enhance our understanding of the mineralogy at the MDF project to help rapidly advance the project towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. The campaign is expected to be completed in the next quarter, with results planned to be released progressively as they become available."

Previous vendor sampling at the project returned grades of up to 14.03% TREO and 26,418 parts per million (ppm). Other results included 49,673 ppm TREO, 26,074 ppm TREO, 16,589 ppm TREO, and 23,871 ppm MREO.

Meanwhile, Power Minerals has temporarily suspended drilling at the Santa Anna project to focus on accelerating the MDF project. The company also intends to concentrate on further landowner negotiations to access untested target areas.
