en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex (AGMK) has commissioned a new gold processing plant named "Kaurdy" in Uzbekistan. The plant will specifically process raw materials from the Kaurdy and Kuy-Kenzhasoy deposits.
The processing plant has a design capacity of processing 200,000 tonnes of ore per year, and the associated projects have created 151 new jobs. According to the plan, a second phase of construction will be implemented in the coming years, which will further increase the plant's capacity.
The entire construction work and supply of technological equipment were carried out by AGMK itself, without the involvement of external contractors. The facility construction was undertaken by the group's subsidiary trust "Olmaliq Metallurgical Construction," while key equipment, including flotation machines, hydrocyclones, mills, classifiers, contact tanks, and thickeners, were all manufactured by the group's Central Mechanical Repair Production Department.
The processing plant's infrastructure is fully equipped, including a modern two-story administrative and living building, a spacious employee canteen, shower rooms, and a security post.
The commissioning of the plant is closely linked to the development of the new Kuy-Kenzhasoy gold deposit. AGMK specialists conducted large-scale geological exploration in the area between 2016 and 2022. Stripping work at the deposit began in 2025, and mine infrastructure construction is currently underway.
According to the plan, the extraction of gold-bearing ore will commence between 2027 and 2028, with the overall development cycle for the block expected to exceed 10 years. Meanwhile, geologists are conducting supplementary geological exploration work in adjacent areas.
