en.Wedoany.com Reported - Patrik Hofer of NorthC stated that as the rapid increase in data volume driven by growing AI usage raises the demand for scalable, high-performance infrastructure in data centers, the company is further expanding its capacity to address this trend.

A significant portion of data center energy consumption comes from cooling systems. AI technology helps dynamically and precisely adjust cooling power to match actual needs. A pilot project by NorthC in the Netherlands has achieved a 5% to 10% reduction in energy consumption, and the solution is planned to be launched soon in Switzerland and Germany.

Over the past 12 months, NorthC has transformed its data center in Münchenstein (Basel) 1 into a high-density, AI-ready facility. This upgrade supports the rapid deployment of advanced GPU clusters, hybrid cloud workloads, and scalable high-performance computing environments. In collaboration with partner Legrand, the company has installed Coldlogik rear-door heat exchangers for rack-level cooling. This cooling system is mounted directly on the back of server racks, absorbing heat emitted by servers and expelling it through efficient heat exchangers, then returning cooled air to the room.

NorthC uses renewable energy and smart technologies in its facilities to reduce energy consumption and optimize resource utilization, following a comprehensive sustainability strategy that combines innovation, efficiency, and environmental awareness to address increasing performance demands and sustainability pressures.

NorthC aims to achieve full carbon neutrality by 2030. To reach this goal, the company uses 100% green electricity, waste heat utilization, modular construction, and artificial intelligence. In the Netherlands, NorthC also employs green hydrogen technology as an emergency power source.
