Grenevia Expands Wind Business

Wedoany.com Report-Mar 7, Polish group Grenevia has acquired Windhunter Academy and Windhunter Service to strengthen its business in the wind industry.

Grenevia has acquired 100% of the shares in the share capital of Windhunter Academy and Windhunter Service.

The companies will form part of Grenevia’s subsidiary FAMUR Gearo.

Windhunter Academy is leading training centre, offering certified training for wind industry specialists.

It is the largest provider of Global Wind Organization (GWO) training in Poland.

Training is conducted in two centres in Koszalin and Walbrzych.

For eight years, the companies have also been organising Tour de Wind an industry event, which will take place this year on 22 May.

“Joining forces is a natural step in building an independent, Polish group offering comprehensive services for the wind sector – from specialist training to the implementation of wind projects,” said Karolina Jastrzebska, Vice President of the Management Board of Windhunter Academy.

Windhunter Service provides wind measurements, offering the production, installation and servicing of measuring masts as well as LiDAR and SoDAR, allowing for precise assessment of wind potential.

The company has completed over 1800 projects in over 20 countries, cooperating with leading turbine manufacturers and wind farm developers.

Additionally, Windhunter Service develops comprehensive wind turbine servicing services, including preventive and emergency servicing, blade inspection and repair, maintenance and optimisation work.

“By joining FAMUR Gearo, windhunter service will gain new development dynamics, especially in the area of ​​wind turbine servicing,” said Wojciech Mardziel, Vice President of the Management Board of Windhunter Service.

FAMUR Gearo's offer in the field of wind energy includes the production of wind gearboxes and other components, as well as repairs, modernisations, research, technical consulting and turbine servicing.
