en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's Ministry of Communications (MCom) held a meeting with a Chinese government delegation in Brasília on Tuesday (16th) to discuss cooperation in the digital economy. The meeting was based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries in 2024.

The Chinese delegation submitted a list of 20 pre-selected projects covering areas such as mining, livestock, digital training, meteorology, and scientific research, which are expected to benefit from the cooperation.
Alexandre Moraes, Head of the International Advisory Office of Brazil's Ministry of Communications, commented that the meeting reaffirmed the alignment of interests between the two countries, particularly in applying technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to the productive sector to promote economic development. He stated that digital transformation has a positive impact on society but requires action from different government entities, and the Ministry will review these projects to understand how to strengthen this partnership.
Regarding data flow rules, invited officials noted that international cooperation involving data flow requires coordinating regulations between the Chinese and Brazilian governments, and creating scenarios for the application of institutional frameworks and digital economy training programs. Zou Xiankang, Deputy Director of the Statistics Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, stated that China has developed data compliance guidelines and has submitted a draft for Brazil's Ministry of Communications to review.
The meeting was attended by Hermano Albuquerque, President of Telebras; Vantuyl Barbosa, General Coordinator of Postal Services at Brazil's Ministry of Communications; and Juliano Stanzani, Director of the Ministry's Industry Policy Department.
