en.Wedoany.com Reported - The 40OF project welcomes a new international partner, bringing North American manufacturing and market expertise to help make offshore hydrofoil sailing more accessible. The team has entered into a strategic partnership with Moore Brothers, based in Bristol, Rhode Island, which will represent 40OF in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean, while also serving as the project's North American construction and development partner. This milestone marks the project's transition from the development phase to market activation.

Nahuel Wilson of MW Naval Architecture stated that the 40OF aims to set a new benchmark for offshore performance sailboats. By joining forces with Moore Brothers, the team enhances its ability to deliver the sailboat to North American owners, combining world-class design, engineering, and craftsmanship. The 40OF is a 40-foot fully foiling offshore racing yacht, designed by Wilson/Marquinez Naval Architecture in collaboration with Sailing Architect (led by Willem Jan Landman). Based on the design DNA established by the 69F project, the yacht aims to introduce advanced hydrofoil technology to offshore sailing through an easy-to-operate and manageable platform.

The yacht offers four sailing modes: displacement mode, hydrofoil-assisted mode, stern-down hydrofoil mode, and fully foiling mode starting from wind speeds of approximately 12 knots. These modes allow the crew to explore the potential of offshore hydrofoils while retaining the ability to dock, moor, and operate independently in traditional ports and marinas. Unlike many extreme foiling yachts, it features retractable circular foils and a canting keel, along with an offshore-style cabin and a retractable foil system.

The addition of Moore Brothers complements a growing international development team. Other partners include Pindar (logistics partner for the 40OF development project and future class activities), Evolution Marine (construction and development partner for South Africa, South America, and the Middle East), as well as Sailing Architect BV and Pablo Bottacchi (responsible for development, marketing, and sales). Oliver Moore, Director and Vice President of Moore Brothers, stated that the company has deep roots in the marine industry and is pleased to support the application of high-performance concepts in new fields as the 40OF launches this year. With partners covering design, logistics, sales, and regional construction operations, the 40OF project is transitioning from a concept to a viable class and commercial platform.
