en.Wedoany.com Reported - Accenture has confirmed the acquisition of Industries eXcellence Group (IndX), a business unit of Engineering Group that partners with Siemens Digital Industries. The deal aims to help Accenture expand its services for industrial enterprises, supporting them in updating product development, production methods, and supply chain functions through software, data, and AI tools. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the acquisition is subject to standard closing conditions.

According to Tracey Countryman, Accenture's global lead for supply chain and engineering, industrial companies are investing in software and AI to transform engineering and plant systems. Countryman noted that manufacturers are increasing investments in software, data, and AI to make engineering and factory operations more flexible, intelligent, and connected, but many face challenges in integrating these technologies into products, plants, workshops, and supply chains. Accenture will combine IndX's proven expertise in Siemens technologies with its own AI capabilities and industry knowledge to address this challenge for clients more quickly. This acquisition may enable Accenture to apply AI in bridging gaps between product systems, plant infrastructure, and supply chain networks, areas where integration is often difficult.

Headquartered in Rome and Chicago, IndX specializes in Siemens software for process and discrete manufacturing operations. The company offers digital thread solutions that connect automation, engineering, and production across operational technology and IT systems, covering product lifecycle management, simulation, digital twins, SCADA, industrial edge computing, and cloud computing. Upon completion of the transaction, IndX's employees and technology will join the Accenture Siemens Business Group, which was established last year to combine industrial technology with AI-driven engineering and manufacturing services.

Tony Hemmelgarn, President and CEO of Siemens Digital Industries Software, stated that this acquisition marks a development milestone for the business group, bringing proven skills in digital manufacturing, engineering, automation, digital twins, and simulation industrial solutions, along with relationships with clients who have long applied these solutions. Vivek Kaushik, Global Lead of the Accenture Siemens Business Group, noted that industrial AI solutions developed with Siemens can shorten engineering time-to-market, improve manufacturing efficiency, and strengthen clients' digital cores. IndX will enhance the business group, helping to realize the shared vision of scaling these AI solutions. The combined entity can apply AI to shorten engineering project timelines and improve productivity within client organizations.

IndX serves companies in industries such as aerospace and defense, automotive, high-tech, consumer goods, energy, industrial equipment, life sciences, and utilities, with over 650 employees in Italy, the United States, India, Germany, Mexico, and other European regions. After the transaction closes, Accenture will integrate IndX and other technology-related services into its existing business units and plans to create two Siemens Digital Industries (Siemens DI) solution centers of excellence in Italy and India, staffed with experts in industrial software and digital tools to support clients' product design, plant operations, and supply chain systems. Teodoro Lio, Head of Accenture's Italian market unit, stated that Italy offers a unique combination of manufacturing excellence, engineering capabilities, and innovative talent. By expanding Siemens industrial software capabilities and creating new centers of excellence in Italy, Accenture is strengthening an ecosystem that helps Italian industry become more competitive globally, accelerating digital transformation and creating highly specialized skills and job opportunities.
