en.Wedoany.com Reported - Building materials distributor Point.P has signed an agreement with Haropa Port to develop a 42,000-square-meter multimodal logistics platform at the Port of Gennevilliers, northwest of Paris. The platform will be used for warehousing and order preparation, serving store inventory, direct-to-site delivery, and returns processing, and is expected to become operational next year.

This customer distribution center will enable Point.P, a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain Group, to triple its waterway transport volume in the Île-de-France region. Point.P currently operates sites at several ports in Paris (Bercy, Port National, Javel, and Port de l'Aurore), as well as in Asnières, Pavillon-sous-Bois, and Bonneuil-sur-Marne. With this new multimodal tool, its goal is to transport 240,000 tons of goods annually by waterway by 2029, with over 150,000 tons achieved through the Gennevilliers project.

"This new platform will accelerate the decarbonization of the entire logistics chain, both upstream in collaboration with industrial partners and downstream all the way to customer construction sites," said Nicolas Godet, CEO of Point.P. "It concretely embodies the ambition to develop more efficient, sustainable, and regionally integrated logistics, aligned with the new strategic plan 'Conquer 2035'." This dynamic mirrors similar initiatives by other players in the Île-de-France region, such as the recently commissioned Medlog trimodal platform in Bruyères-sur-Oise.
