Azerbaijan submits candidacies for ITU Council and Radio Regulations Board membership

Azerbaijan was previously elected as a member of the ITU Council in 2014, 2018, and 2022. Representation on the Council helps the country participate in the organization’s decision-making and governance processes, safeguard national interests, and advance information and communication technology priorities. Additionally, in 2018 and 2022, one representative each from Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport was elected as a member of the Radio Regulations Board.

According to the ITU Constitution, members of the Council are elected by the Plenipotentiary Conference based on the principle of equitable geographical distribution; members of the Radio Regulations Board are selected from candidates nominated by member states.
