The project will construct two staggered T-junctions to replace the existing intersection of Warrego Road, Kaczinsky Road, and the Stuart Highway. Works include dedicated right-turn lanes from the Stuart Highway into each road, right-turn access from Warrego Road and Kaczinsky Road onto the Stuart Highway, left-turn slip lanes from the Stuart Highway into each road, and a formalized entrance from Kaczinsky Road to the Tennant Creek Racecourse.

These upgrades will improve driving safety at the intersection and future-proof heavy vehicle activity in the Barkly region. Federal Member for Lingiari, Marion Scrimgour, stated that investing in the Stuart Highway is an investment in Territorians, as the highway serves as the backbone connecting communities, bringing more business and tourism opportunities. The government recognizes the economic potential of the Barkly region and will continue to invest in infrastructure that promotes the region's development.
