en.Wedoany.com Reported - AD Ports Group has announced the launch of cruise services at three terminals in Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, and Safaga, Egypt, as well as the inauguration of a ferry route connecting Safaga Port with NEOM Port in Saudi Arabia to support the transportation of Hajj workers.

In 2024, AD Ports Group signed a 15-year concession agreement with the Red Sea Ports Authority of Egypt to manage, develop, and operate the three cruise terminals along the Red Sea coast and related ferry operations.

The Sharm El-Sheikh cruise port welcomed the maiden call of the "Aroya" cruise ship, the largest super cruise vessel to directly dock in this coastal city, marking a new phase for Red Sea cruise tourism in the region. In close cooperation with AD Ports Group, the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and the Red Sea Ports Authority upgraded the port's berthing capacity, enabling the "Aroya" to dock.

The call of "Aroya" at Sharm El-Sheikh is the first of multiple planned calls by the super cruise ship in 2026, solidifying the status of Sharm El-Sheikh, along with Hurghada and Safaga, as regular destinations for regional and international cruise itineraries. In addition to its cruise terminal operations in the UAE, the Group also manages and operates the Aqaba Cruise Terminal in Jordan through a partnership with the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC).

Egypt and the Red Sea region are key areas within AD Ports Group's global integrated trade, transport, and logistics facility network. In addition to container feeder and stevedoring services, the Group will inaugurate the Noatum Ports Safaga Terminal in Egypt this year, a $200 million multi-purpose cargo terminal serving as a vital trade gateway for southern Egypt (Upper Egypt). The Group has also developed the 20-square-kilometer KEZAD East Port Said Industrial and Logistics Park with Egyptian partners at the Mediterranean entrance of the Suez Canal.

In November 2025, AD Ports Group invested $279 million (approximately EGP 13.2 billion) to acquire a 19.3% stake in Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling Company (ALCN), one of Egypt's largest container terminal operators, and subsequently acquired a majority stake in the company.
