en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazil's National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) this week received grid connection permit applications from EDF Power for the Mirangaba 01 to 06 wind power projects. These projects are located in the municipality of Mirangaba, Bahia state, with a total installed capacity of 297.6 MW.

The grid connection permit application (DRO) is a procedural document issued prior to the formal grid connection permit. It allows responsible parties for solar, thermal, and wind power projects to advance other necessary permitting processes while applying for an access opinion from the National Electric System Operator (ONS).

To date, Aneel has registered 80 DRO applications, with a total installed capacity of 4,667 MW. Among these, solar projects lead in number with 47 applications, totaling 2,349 MW; wind power projects account for 30 applications, totaling 2,214 MW; and thermal power projects comprise 3 applications, totaling 105 MW. All applications have been submitted outside the Regulated Contracting Environment (ACR).

Additionally, Aneel has signed a cooperation agreement with the Regulatory Agency for Water, Energy, and Basic Sanitation of the Federal District (Adasa). Under this agreement, Aneel may delegate certain powers to carry out decentralized activities under a joint public service management model, while ensuring alignment with Aneel's technical and regulatory guidelines. The agreement aims to strengthen inter-institutional cooperation and enhance joint actions in supervising public services in the Federal District. Currently, in addition to the Federal District, Aneel has signed similar cooperation agreements with the states of Alagoas, Amapá, Ceará, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, and Sergipe.
