en.Wedoany.com Reported - International Graphite Ltd (ASX:IG6, FRA:H99, OTC:IGRPF) is making progress in establishing its downstream graphite processing hub in Western Australia, having signed a key construction contract for the process building of its new Collie Micronising Facility.
The contract has been awarded to Bunbury-based Prosser Built, a construction company with over 80 years of experience in industrial and commercial projects in southwest Western Australia. This marks a significant milestone in International Graphite's plan to advance the establishment of a local graphite processing platform, aimed at providing a secure supply chain for high-specification industrial graphite products. As part of its localisation strategy, the facility will also engage local engineering, electrical, civil, and earthmoving businesses.
Previously, the company signed a term sheet with Wogen Pacific Ltd to support product sales, marketing, and graphite concentrate supply for the Collie project.
International Graphite stated that the construction contract price falls within the project's budgeted capital cost estimate. This estimate includes AUD 6.3 million for Phase 1 and AUD 1.7 million for Phase 2. Graphite micronising equipment for Phase 1 has been selected and ordered. Supplier testing is underway to finalise equipment selection for Phase 2, with orders expected to be placed in the next quarter. IG6 will raise AUD 4 million (before costs) through a placement to sophisticated and professional investors to support its midstream graphite processing strategy in Europe and Western Australia.
The Collie Micronising Facility has received support from the Western Australian Government through the Collie Industrial Transition Fund and from the Australian Government through the Critical Minerals Office. This support reflects the strategic importance of building critical minerals processing capacity in trusted jurisdictions, as global markets seek reliable alternatives to traditional graphite supply chains.
International Graphite expects the entire Collie development project (covering Phase 1 and Phase 2) to be completed by the second quarter of 2027. In the near term, the company will continue construction planning, advance Phase 1 equipment delivery, and finalise Phase 2 equipment selection before placing additional orders in the next quarter.
