en.Wedoany.com Reported - The new branch of the Tren Suburbano connecting Mexico City with Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) has officially commenced commercial operations. The core communication infrastructure of this line is based on narrowband radio (TETRA) technology, ensuring real-time communication between trains, the control center, and operational personnel along the route.

Spanish company Teltronic, which had previously deployed the wireless communication system for the Buenavista-Cuautitlán section of this line, has now extended it to the newly built 28-kilometer segment, covering the area from Lechería Station to the AIFA airport.

The entire project added new base station facilities and installed RTP-800 mobile radios on 10 trains, while also equipping supervisory and security personnel with portable and fixed radios.

This new branch began operations at the end of April this year and is part of the first phase of the Mexico City-Pachuca railway project. The first stage connects Lechería Station with the airport via 28 kilometers of track and 8 stations, passing through the municipalities of Tultitlán, Tultepec, Nextlalpan, and Zumpango in the State of Mexico. The branch is designed to handle an average daily passenger volume of approximately 80,000, primarily serving airport traffic while also providing a new public transportation option for residents of the Valley of Mexico. The railway line is operated by the Mexican government, with future plans to extend further into Hidalgo State as part of the Mexico-Pachuca railway corridor.

Felipe Sanjuán, Director of Transport Business Development at Teltronic, stated that the company has served this line for many years and that continuing to provide support as the line extends is crucial, further solidifying customer confidence in its technology and local team.
