Intrado and AT&T Expand NG 9-1-1 Collaboration in the U.S.
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Emergency communications technology company Intrado announced it is continuing its partnership with AT&T to enhance next-generation emergency communication capabilities for AT&T's wireless and VoIP services using its NG Nexus platform. AT&T users will benefit from optimized emergency routing, improved location accuracy, and technology that meets Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) requirements, aiming for faster response times and more precise location data.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission's Order 24-78 establishes nationwide regulations designed to accelerate the transition to NG 9-1-1 technology, driving the modernization of emergency communication systems for state and local 9-1-1 authorities and communications providers. With Intrado's NG Nexus platform, AT&T is helping its customers meet these requirements. The platform provides enhanced caller location and routing accuracy, leveraging location information servers, reference data functions, location routing functions, HTTP-based location delivery and additional data retrieval, as well as IPv6, to enable more precise call routing.
The NG Nexus platform is also designed to reduce operational pressure, allowing communications providers to focus on core operations while Intrado manages service request tracking, certificate management, and interoperability testing. With over 45 years of 9-1-1 expertise, Intrado ensures emergency calls are transmitted in the correct format compliant with NG 9-1-1 regulatory requirements and interoperability standards. Building on more than two decades of strategic partnership, AT&T and Intrado continue to collaborate in advancing resilient and modern emergency communications infrastructure. Intrado CEO Joe Custer stated that telecom providers need partners capable of supporting them through complex compliance requirements, and this strengthened alliance will support the implementation of the FCC's NG 9-1-1 regulatory framework. Gordon Mansfield, Vice President of Global Technology Planning at AT&T, noted that the long-term collaboration with Intrado ensures its infrastructure can reliably serve customers for years to come. Dan Koenig, Senior Manager of Public Safety and 9-1-1 Project Services for Palm Beach County, said the partnership between AT&T and Intrado runs smoothly and is completely transparent to 9-1-1 dispatchers.
