en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Port Authority of Almería (APA) has launched a tender for the construction of an 885 kW photovoltaic solar power station for self-consumption at the Ribera I dock parking lot of the Port of Almería. The project will involve building a carport over a one-hectare parking area, installing photovoltaic panels, while also providing shade for the pre-boarding zone.

The base budget for the project tender is €3,627,968.16 (including VAT), co-financed by the European FEDER 4 fund under Spain's 2021-2027 Multi-Regional FEDER Program. The bid submission deadline is July 22. The construction period is six months from the signing of the re-measurement and stakeout verification record. If construction overlaps with the "Operation Passage of the Strait (Operación Paso del Estrecho)," the start of work will be postponed until after the operation concludes due to port operational needs.
The project plans to build ten single-slope carport structures and install solar facilities on them. The total nominal power of the station is 855 kW, consisting of 1,460 photovoltaic modules of 650 W each and three inverters with a nominal power of 285 kW each, resulting in an installed capacity of 949 kW peak (kWp). To store part of the excess electricity, the project will also be equipped with an energy storage system with 880 kW battery power and 3,664 kWh storage capacity.
Recently, the Port Authority of Almería has installed a 660 kW station on the roof of the Ribera II dock warehouse, as well as photovoltaic power stations at the border checkpoint (80 kW) and the maritime station (98 kW). The authority stated that the net electricity generated by these three stations is roughly equivalent to the direct electricity consumption of the Port of Almería.
