This is a sports complex project under China Railway's "investment-construction-operation" integrated model.
Located in the core area of Bajiaowan New City in Yantai Huang-Bohai New District, the Yantai Bajiaowan International Sports Center covers a total area of approximately 238,500 square meters, with a total building area of about 161,300 square meters. The project includes a three-year construction period and a 15-year operation period, comprising three major sections: a gymnasium, a national fitness center, and a sports park. It integrates sports events, cultural performances, commercial services, national fitness, and leisure entertainment, positioning itself as an urban sports complex.
The gymnasium is a large Class A venue with 10,000 seats. The competition area features multi-functional conversion capabilities, enabling it to host international and domestic individual events and domestic comprehensive events such as basketball, table tennis, and gymnastics, as well as large-scale cultural performances and business conferences. The national fitness center includes indoor basketball and table tennis courts, a swimming pool, and supporting dining and commercial services. The sports park section covers a total area of over 180,000 square meters, featuring a track and field ground, football field, basketball courts, a children's playground, and a circular walking path. On June 15, the sports park section (excluding the track and field ground) was the first to open for trial operation.
After the trial operation, the center will leverage the "sports+" innovation model, driven by event traffic, combined with smart venue management and diversified business synergy, to become an influential event hub in Shandong Province, a new cultural and sports landmark at the municipal level, a new engine for regional consumption, and a new carrier for national fitness. This will inject new vitality into Yantai's urban function upgrade and the industry-city integration of the Huang-Bohai New District.
