en.Wedoany.com Reported - Fibrosan Inc., a Turkish-owned composite materials manufacturer, has announced plans to build a new glass fiber manufacturing facility in Cassopolis, Cass County, Michigan, with a capital investment exceeding $16.8 million, expected to create 32 new jobs. This project marks the company's first manufacturing operation in the United States, aiming to establish Michigan as a strategic hub for composite material production serving the North American RV industry.

Fibrosan's decision to set up a plant in Cassopolis is a strategic response to the sustained demand from U.S. RV manufacturers and the operational challenges of relying entirely on overseas supply. By establishing domestic manufacturing capabilities, the company seeks to improve customer responsiveness, reduce logistics and inventory costs, and align production schedules more closely with customer needs. The glass fiber-reinforced panel laminates produced by Fibrosan provide structural and aesthetic components for RV walls, roofs, and interior applications, playing a key role in weight reduction, moisture resistance, and durability.

Fibrosan CEO Erim Yücel stated that the plant is the result of a long-term strategy, beginning with investments in people, technology, capacity, and relationships over 20 years ago. He emphasized that while building long-term sustainability in the North American market, the company will strive to create local job opportunities.

To attract this investment, the Michigan Strategic Fund approved a $200,000 performance-based grant from the Michigan Business Development Program. The Village of Cassopolis is expected to approve a property tax abatement for the project, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation has also authorized a state education tax abatement to form a comprehensive support package. Matt McCauley, Senior Vice President of Regional Development at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, noted that the project will create jobs in the region, support small businesses, and drive further investment. Katie Multoff, Economic Development Manager at Market One, stated that the investment is a major win for Cass County, creating quality jobs and strengthening the industrial base.

Fibrosan Inc. is the U.S. subsidiary of Fibrosan Glass and Reinforced Polyester, which was founded in 1983 and is part of the Turkish family-owned Yücel Group. The company specializes in the development and production of glass-reinforced plastic laminates and composite materials, with applications in recreational vehicles, transportation, construction, food processing facilities, chemical plants, and other sectors. The company began exporting in the early 1990s and established an international subsidiary in Elkhart, Indiana, in 2016. The Cassopolis plant will serve as the foundation for Fibrosan's long-term manufacturing operations in Michigan and position the company for growth in the North American composite materials market.
